About me

A good facilitator will inject passion, precision and clear direction into their work. You need someone who gets a real buzz out out working with groups and who thrives on enabling people to work together. You spend valuable time and resources on getting the right staff with the right skills to do their job. You don't want to waste opportunities to capture their bubbling ideas, vibrant thoughts, dazzling knowledge.  So that's why you need me.

As an experienced facilitator I draw on an eclectic skill and knowledge base to bring the best out of the groups I work with. I qualified nearly 20 years ago as a Speech and Language Therapist, a profession that has lead me on a voyage of discovery and learning in the field of communication. In 1999 I went to Nepal with VSO and trained special needs teachers and Community Based Rehabilitation workers in all things communication related. In addition to the training I started facilitating workshops and meetings, to help people discuss, plan and make decisions, and then I was hooked!

I have since worked with a wide range of clients both in the UK and overseas including charities, (I)NGOs, the NHS and the private sector. Participants in my workshops come from a broad spectrum of professional backgrounds and vary in seniority from Board Chairs and Senior Project Managers to volunteer field workers, and groups of young people. The great thing about facilitation is that you can adapt it to just about anyone.

I am Bristol based but work throughout the UK. I combine my facilitation work with parenting (which I include in my skill set as supreme organisation!), and keeping up to date with my interests which include cycling, photography, travelling, growing tasty veg in my allotment, disability rights, environmental and community issues.
